Fossils
are biological remains or relics preserved in strata. They are important
recordings for geological age determination. In the ancient sea 400 million
years ago, there was a marine carnivore, with outermost shell composed of
calcareous or keratin. It was called hornstone (Sinoceras) because of its angle cone shape.
They are one of the most important fossils in Ordovician period.
