Yaowang cave faces to southeast, with width of 11m, height of 10m and depth of 30m. According to legend, this cave was used for collecting herbs and refining pills by Sun Simiao, who was called “King of herbs” in Sui and Tang Destiny. There used to be a temple at outside of the cave for memorizing Sun Simiao. There are stone figure and tablet in the cave. There is a stone mortar at roof of the cave, which was the tool for making pills by Sun, according to legend. At the south of the cave, a taxus chinensis lives about a thousand years, with luxuriant branches and leaves and evergreen all the year round. The height of the tree is 18 m. It belongs to subtropical zone plant, and can be considered as “living fossil”. This tree was planted by Sun Simiao when he acted as a doctor in Yuntaishan.
