In 2017, the new Global Geopark Museum was established in Yuntaishan. The museum is located at the southeast side of the main monument, integrated with the main monument and the geological square, and is a supporting science facility of the Global Geopark for the public, with important exhibition boards highlighting the important geological relics of Yuntaishan Geopark. The museum is a three-storey building with an area of 3,328m2, the two upper floors are for the display area of the geopark with an area of about 2,249m2, and the underground floor is for the display of meteorite art with an area of about 1,079m2. 5 themes and 11 exhibition halls are set up around the functions and rich resources of the park, namely, Meet Yuntaishan, Get to know Yuntaishan, Enter Yuntaishan, Explore Yuntaishan, and Treasures of Heaven. Yuntaishan (including mineral Yuntaishan, ecological Yuntaishan, humanistic Yuntaishan), brilliant Yuntaishan, sharing Yuntaishan, and unforgettable Yuntaishan. After its completion, the museum received a series of science popularization activities and took on the task of popularizing science to local community residents, highlighting the display degree of the Yuntaishan Global Geopark.

The museum of Yuntaishan Global Geopark has many functions such as science education, academic exchange and conference reception, and can receive 1.2 million visitors annually. It is not only the landmark of Yuntaishan Global Geopark, but also the base and window of geological scientific research and science knowledge education.
