On March 31^st, a signing ceremony was held for the "Sister Geoparks" friendly cooperation agreement between Yuntaishan Global Geopark and Shilin Global Geopark. The two parties will strengthen communication and cooperation to jointly explore how to enhance the protection and management of the parks, planning and construction, as well as scientific research and public education, with the aim of achieving sustainable development.

Shilin Global Geopark is located in Shilin County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, covering an area of 365.7 km². In 2004, it became one of the first batch of Global Geoparks along with Yuntaishan Global Geopark. According to the agreement reached, the two parties will engage in in-depth cooperation in 12 aspects, including sharing park management philosophies and experiences, exchanging research methods, skills, and outcomes in culture and natural resources, conducting joint thematic studies, education, exchanges, and publicity on natural resources and the environment, and exchanging ideas on leisure and eco-tourism management and planning.
