Every year in the third lunar month, Shennongshan hosts the grand “Erxian Temple Fair”, a vibrant celebration lasting half a month. During its peak in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, the fair drew massive crowds—day and night, the paths and courtyards were packed with visitors. In June 2009, the "Erxian Temple Fair" was officially recognized as part of “Henan Province’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (2nd Batch)”.

A highlight of the fair is the "Erxian Grandmother Water-Procession Ritual," a sacred tradition dating back to the Ming Dynasty’s Yongle era (early 15th century). Recorded in a 1646 stele (“Chronicle of the Water Ritual”), this ceremony has been passed down unbroken for **over 500 years** through the Ming, Qing, and modern eras. In July 2021, it was inscribed as “Henan’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (5th Batch)”.  

In 2025, Shennongshan’s "Double Third Festival" erxian temple fair will be held from March 29 to April 12(3rd lunar month, days 1–15) , and from April 4 to 6 (7th to 9th day of the 3rd lunar month), the two fairy Grandma water parade will be held.Visitors can:Marvel at breathtaking landscapes & time-honored traditions,Join the “Water-Procession” to pray for “blessings, prosperity, and peace”, Immerse in folk performances & cultural exhibitions.We invite you to this “springtime spectacle”—wander through the fair, soak up the festive atmosphere, and carry home a year of good fortune!
