Yuntaishan UGGp is the first member of the GGN approved by UNESCO on February 13, 2004. The first evaluation was conducted by UNESCO in June 2008. The second evaluation was conducted by UNESCO in July 2012. In August 2016, Yuntaishan received UNESCO's third revalidation. The revalidation mainly examines the Geopark's work in scientific research and science popularization, network and publicity, protection and construction, strategy and partnership, marketing and promotion, and sustainable economic development of the Geopark. Yuntaishan UGGp was revalidated by two UN experts on August 3-6, 2016.
