In March 2005, researchers collected samples of Archean rocks, and their age was determined to be 3398±8 million years ago (SHRINP II) by analyzing the zircon grains in the samples at Beijing SHRIMP Center. This is the first time that this age has been discovered, which not only substantially enlarges the extent of the paleo-continental nucleus but also has a significant effect on the geological and historical evolution of the North China craton. This site serves as a base for popularizing the field of exploring the origin of Earth.
