Disconformity is a stratigraphic contact where strata both above and below have similar or the same attitudes. In Yuntaishan, the carbonate rock under the disconformity was deposited in the Ordovician period about 440 million years ago, while the shale stone above the conformity was deposited in the Carboniferous period about 320 million years ago.
